Imo it is fun to break the rules and games are place where you dont have to care about moral. My point is that it is completely fine to want to play mass shooting game and slaughter women, children, men, dogs, whatever.īecause normal person should be able to play game like this without wanting to do it in real life, or think that it is real. If you cant part fiction from reality, then this game isn't for you I guess.

"not sure why anyone would get a kick out of being italian plumber whom stomps animals"ĭon't be some kind of "king of moral", it is just a game. What is the truth? The former? The latter? Both? Context is key, and the development and psyche of the character would play some part, but in this case … what exactly would be this game? A political message - either a racist one or a social one - or mindless fun? And how one would consider it fun to hunt down and kill black people other than a diehard racist? One can see it as racist, another can see it as a way of showing you how brutally the whites treated the black in the past and how wrong this behavior is. Imagine a video game where you a white man who chases down, enslaves, whips and murders innocent black people and doing it because they're black. So the concept isn't new, but in a era where school shootings and random acts of violence are rampant, I'm not entirely sure if it's the right thing. Does brutally murdering demons in Doom makes one apathetic towards violence? Is one ignoring the imagery because it's just harmless fun? Is it harmless to be apathetic or enjoying oneself when you are murdering innocent lifeless character models in a video game who are begging you to spare their lives?įunnily enough, there was a Chainsaw Massacre game for the Atari many years ago where you were actually Leatherface and you were brutally murdering people. It is an interesting topic for discussion. I mean, is it a power fantasy? Escapism? A sense of pure freedom to do whatever the fuck you want, without caring for the cost to others? There are healthier ways to vent.

Personally, I understand and respect the sentiment but I'm not sure if it is healthy to put myself in the shoes of a serial killer. Click to expand.I remember the developers claiming that this game was a punch to the face to all those developers and companies who were afraid of being bold with their games and were always trying to be politically correct instead of making the game they wanted.
